Which skimmer for a 40 gal reef tank
So I am in the midst of reasearching and setting up my proposed reef tank. I am looking to have coral mainly , a couple small fish and various critters (crabs and things of that sort)
Just wanted to have an idea of an IDEAL model and size of a protein skimmer that I will need for a tank that measures 36" long, 12" deep and 24" high. I also am not going to use a sump, rather lots of live rock, sand bed and power heads.
Thanks for the help, if any other details are necessary, please ask.
since your not doing a sump id go with the aqua C remora. i prob. would even go with the PRO model but knowing how this hobby goes, you'll be upgrading to a larger tank before you know it.
Great, I appreciate the advice. Are these units relatively quiet because this tank is in my bedroom and I don't want to hear any loud humming noises
yes, as long as it has the o-ring that goes around the band, if it doesn't then you can purchase one.
