Help Setting up River tank! I want to set up a river tank (but with no land, all the way full) in my fishroom, and I was going to do a 55g heavily planted with driftwood, sand for substrate, and some small pebbles, large rocks around the tank, and a nice current, but I'm not exactly sure how to go about this. If anyone has a river tank, and/or can give me some advice i would greatly appreciate it! Also, I need some ideas on plants that I can use for this tank, and finally, Stocking Ideas. I know that I want some half banded loaches, and aside from that I don't know yet. |
Not sure on the set up but as far as stocking....TWO groups of river type loaches :-D |
Powerheads = current. That will help. |
Ok, thanks! As for stocking I think I like ~6 half banded loaches ~a bristlenose pleco ~ 7 lemon tetras ~5 tiger barbs Is that overstocking a 55g? |
I have never seen a river tank but it sounds cool. Are loaches hard to care for? |
Not that hard, They are in between super hard and super easy. They are sooooo cute, tho! |
Make it 10 Tiger Barbs. Trust me. You are still fine stocking-wise. |
Really? Thanks! I've never had a tank that large, so I wasn't really sure, and I don't want my fishies all cramed, but I would love 10 tiger barbs! Thanks again, Cody! :) |
*does a little dance {NOT LIKE THAT} for cody* lol, i felt like i needed to give a dance to somebody... :-P good luck vegan. I WANT PICS! sorry i can't really help though, i don't know anything about river tanks, though they sound awesome |
Ok, went and purchased a 55g tank with stand, filter, heater, air pumps, hood, lights for only $75!!! That makes things soooooo much better cuz now I have a lot of money left to work on the flow, and decor. I won't this to be a kinda realistic tank! |
