what kind of snails did we used to have? Back in the, when i first got into fish keeping, my aunt had snails. I got a few from her and they started reproducing like crazy . They were little brown snails. They never got very large. They had roundish shells that 'coiled' if i remember right. I'm looking to get more for when i get dwarf puffers, but can't seem to find the snails anywhere and i dont know what kind they were to start looking. any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |
pond snails commonly known as pest snails because they reproduce very fast. |
buy a live plant from some place like petsmart and you are almost gaurenteed to get a bunch or you can just look into the live plant selection that they have and ask them if you can have a couple of the snails, since they are comonly known as pests they would probably give them to you for free. |
They are ramshorn snails. Think I saw some for free, only pay shipping, in the (AquariaCentral.com) classifieds. |
