75g Cichlid tank
I wanted to show my pics of my 75g and my fish. I already have a background, but haven't put it on yet. What do you think?
The first picture is of the 75 gallon. I newly decorated it because of adding the new fish..... haven't completely decided if I like it or not yet.
The second is of the flameback I just bought. I love him and his colors!!
The third one is of the rock kribensis, his colors haven't come back yet, but I did just move him yesterday so hopefully soon he will look really good.
The fourth is my favorite new guy, the chailosi! I can't wait for him to get big!
The fifth picture is of my pleco and the rubescens.
And the last picture is of my OB peacock and the rubescens again.... that's all i got though.
Beautiful fish, tank needs more rock and maybe some silk plants to dress it up a bit and offer more territory.
I like the centerpiece... maybe try using the others to help accent the centerpiece and work out from there? All of my experience with Africans over the years, of any species, dictates that they need an extreme amount of rock work to find peace in the tank. If this were my tank, I would be worried that as they mature and possibly pair up for spawning (which is easy if they're healthy and both male/female in the tank) there won't be nearly enough territory in that tank for them to find peace. Would be a shame to see such beauties damaged from fighting.
The centerpiece looks like lace rock... yes? Hard to tell in the photo. Lace rock is cool and a lot of fun, easy to offer lots of territory. The drawback is that its heavy/dense which means its more expensive. I also see rainbow rock, what looks like slate, and red lava... possibly some white tufa down in front? All great rocks, tie them together into a denser structure and your fish will have it made!
Forgot to mention I only have males in the tank. i don't think i could handle the aggression with females being in the tank!
bumping this thread up hoping to hear more thoughts about my african cichlid tank
Beautiful fish! The only suggestion I have is that you have a lot of different kinds/colors of rock. Maybe just have more of one type of rock. The fish are so colorful you don't want the decorations to distract from them.
