Possible Community - Please Advise
I am awaiting delivery of a 48 litre (Interpet Fishpod 48, which we plan to set up using a fishless cycle. We currently have a small 15 litre tank with 3 platys in but decided to upgrade. I have tried to research possible inmates for the new tank that will live happily in that size tank as a community, but have found lots of conflicting info, so I would welcome your thoughts on the following community:
- 3 existing platys
- 1 dwarf gourami (I really want this one)
- 4 pygmy corys
- 4 neon tetras
Would the gourami be happy?
Your platys are livebearers, are they all male? if not you will probably have some babies somewhere down the road
Corries look ok, maybe one more they are schooling fish
Neons are schooling fish too, they should be kept groups of atleast 6
I'm not too sure about the gourami, I don't have a lot of experience with them, someone else will be able to chime in!
Thanks for the advice it's much appreciated. The platys are all male, we chose to keep it that way with such a small tank we didn't want babies!! But one of the little fellas, affectionately known as "the sickly one" as he's been sick since about a day after we brought him home died today, so a bit sad really. :(
