Urgent???? Help!

Hi, I'm still very new to this whole aquarium thing, so I'll ask you guys! Here's my problem... I got a new 5 gallon marineland hex, very nice little tank. I'm doing a project display on freshwater snails, so I set it up, and I have only snails in it. 3 brigs, several physas, 3 trumpets, 3 rams and a couple of spixis. This is only temporary, one week. After that, I'm giving most of the snails to a local fish store for credit. Anyway, I just tested my tank water, and I know it's off. ph= 8.3, ammonia=.50ppm, kh=107.4ppm, gh=161.1ppm, nitrite and nitrate are 0. Suggestions? How serious is this? Run to the petstore now, or wait till tommorrow? Best (and cheapest) options?
Thanks for any help.

No chemicals will help this. I don't even know why people suggest those...

You are still cycling. You need to do daily water changes to keep the ammonia and nitrites at 0. Nitrates can be kept around 20ppm.

What percent should I change? I've heard everywhere from 10% to 80%.

Whats your ph supposed to be with snails ? sorry if i;m wasting your time . I think at least 50 ^ if your in crisis. I do not know how shifts in ph affect snails tho.

As far as I've read, snails have the same pH needs as fish. They just like their water a little harder.

Yes hard water= ^ calcium, look/search snails or for batmans posts , hes written alot about snails. He wrote that calcium supplementation was required and that they should not be kept in acidic water because it will cause shell erosion. Thats all i got. Fordman likes snails too. PM them.

50% water changes once daily, keep ammonia, nitrite under .25 if possible.
