does filter noise cause stress?

my filters are pretty quiet in the room but when i put my ear to the glass i can hear a pretty significant humming noise from the vibration of the motor. won't this cause a lot of stress to your fish? if i can hear it from the glass im pretty sure its just as loud in the water.

Strong humming sound from you filter may give stress to your fish. Better have a huge size of aquarium if you'll be using a filter. The vibration will be less.

I think fish are used to hearing noise through water.
I would not worry about it.

Don't worry about it. Rivers, lakes, and the ocean are not silent places.
