3 together...one always hiding?

Okay well as you all know by now i have 4 panda corys. Im always checking on them, and notice that most of the time I only see 3 of them and the 4th is always hiding somewhere. Now i have no clue if its the same one hiding all the time or what, since they all look alike lol. Could very well be though...I dunno..I couldnt find number 4 just now,he might be under the cave where i cant see. Sometimes i see all 4 swimming together (especially at dinner time haha)....but usually its just 3 of them going around...is that normal? Are they singling one of them out or something? Or the 4th doesnt like them lol. I dunno...Also the one of them does look way bigger than the others. so im thinking that one is a girl (as the girls are bigger in their species)...all the others im guessing are males...Any thoughts? Should i get another panda for that one to hang out with? Would that be overloading my tank....they dont seem to have grown very much and its been a few weeks...but i dunno how fast they grow either...lol!

If all you're keeping in the tank are cories, you could probably have more than just the 4 of them in a 9.25g tank. I think you could have six of them with no problems. Add some more, and see what happens! They seem happier and happier the larger their groups are, so it could help that one from feeling so shy.

Oh for real? The guy at the lfs in the city so no no you cant have 6 in 10 gallon or 9.25 lol. He wouldnt sell me 6! So i just got 4 at the time. He wont remember me now though...I dont think...So i could go get two more! So they do stay small? He told me they get to 2 inches...so far the one is maybe 1.5 inches (the female i believe) and the smaller ones are maybe 1-1.25 inches...

Two inches is an average size. Cories have a pretty light bioload and like the company of their own species so I don't think six in your tank would be overdoing it at all.

That would be great if you could get 2 more. :)

Oh okay...well thank very much batman! I think I will get two more then! I have a coupon for that lfs anyways...lol

Good! If that one guy does remember you and gives yoou any problem, tell him that 2 died and you are getting 2 more to replace them.

fishyinpa 03-04-2009 03:07 PM

Hmm good plan! lol....i doubt he will but ya never know...

Well I dont have to worry bout that dude, cause they dont have any in right now. They have some kinda skunk one though...prolly huge lol. I called the first one i went to in NJ and they have like 30 of them. So I think Ill take my chances and go over there to get them. Im gonna go tonite, cause my luck Ill wait and they have none. Haha. Will it be okay to just put them in the pandas tank? Like do they need qtine or anything? I really am outta space to hook up another heater, tank, filter all that. And outta plugs lol. Hopefully its fine cause thats what i gonna do!

I think they'll be ok but I'm no expert. lol Just keep an eye on them. I wonder how all six will do together? :)
