Please Help Identify my fish! 2 Attachment(s) I have a fish that came with my aquarium and I do not know what it is. I think it might be some kind of chiclid? Any help would be appreciated...he is usually a grey colour but different times of the day he gets these really dark stripes that come out on him...so far he's' been good with my other fish - 1 big angel - four baby angels - beta - tetras and black moore - 2 silver dollars...I bought a devider in case he gets aggressive as this fish has been passed down through five different people and no one can remember where he came from and what kind...they said he ate all their fish too! |
Looks like some species of big, nasty cichlid. It will cause problems. |
There are thousands of species of Cichlids but the photo Looks to me like a possible Port Cichlid. |
K, thanks...I googled Port and so far it looks the closest, except the face of mine is not as pointy and mine has stripes going down as well(really black and only sometimes, other times he is just plain grey)so far he's leaving my other fish alone...I've done a lot of research today and I wish I had done that first as I've added all my fish without doing any quarantines ...fingers crossed they all stay healthy... |
Help...new additions to my tank 1 Attachment(s) I recently inherited two large silver dollars, but the guy sent along two others(without my knowledge) does any one know what they are? Any help would be appreciated....thanks! : ) |
Tin Foil Barbs |
Thanks...that was fast! are they okay with guppies? So far they're not bothering them! |
The barbs are going to really big(10-14") and eat anything that will fit in their mouths, so eventually, no they wont be ok with the guppies. |
