Whole tank is slowly being taken out.
I have a 120 gallon tank that has live plants. I have a mix of fish from angels to congo tetras. Everything had been going fine then one by one my fish have been dying. They become inactive and breathe hard. They bloat up. some hang in for days and others last a couple of days before they die. My favorite angel now looks like he is coming down with it. The last one had the symptoms with no real bloating. Everyone is fine and very active. The water quality tests fine and I have a great filter. Seemingly very healthy active fish are being taking out. This is killing me, no one has any real answers. I am hoping someone here can help.?

A few questions. How long has the tank been set up? What type of test kit are you using and what are your exact water parameters? What is your normal tank maintenance routine? How often & what percentage are you doing when you perform water changes??

Are you sure your tank was properly cycled? Do you check your own water parameters or take them to a LFS ? No expert here, but it almost seems like ammonia poisoning to me.

swollen bellies sounds like swim bladder, are you feeding any of these fish blood worms?
i lost a whole tank to this disease, i watch them all die, i worked out that i was feeding too much blood worms and they way to fix them is by feeding them peas,
and dead alage pellets,
that is what it sounds like to me

I lost an entire tank of guppies to a problem that sounds similar although some of my fish bloated up and others became extremely emaciated. Do your fish have white, stringy poops? It turns out that my problem was with internal parasites. I am treating the survivors with Jungle Labs Anti-Parasite Medicated Food now and it does "seem" to be working. I tried many other things all to no avail.
