Hi I have a 46 gallon tank with 3 rosy barbs, 5 neon tetras,1 CAE, 1 SAE, 2 kissing gourami, and 1 rainbow shark. I was thinking of getting 3 swordtails, 1 male and 2 females. Later on down the road I plan on getting 2 austrailian rainbows. Will this be okay??:-?

Swordtails can be a little aggressive so I'd keep an eye on your neons. If you get australian rainbows I would recommend more than 2. They do much better in schools of 5 or more. Same goes with the rosey barbs. Most schooling fish do better with 5 or more fish. They feel more secure-safety in numbers... 3 fish is a pretty wimpy school, I would get a few more.

Wouldnt that overstock my tank then??

I don't think it would overstock your tank, provided you made a few stocking changes. The kissing gouramis get absolutely huge (about 8") and can be annoying/aggressive to other fish. The Chinese algae eater will also eventually get aggressive and may eat smaller fish as well as have serious fights with other bottom dwellers (I'm especially thinking with the rainbow shark). It might be a good idea to find new homes and replace them with more suitable tank inhabitants, like another SAE instead of the CAE and smaller gouramis like pearl or opaline gouramis.

Ive had the CAE for a while and its about 5 inches and hasnt gotten any bigger. The rainbow shark and CAE get along great they even share their own cave together. Its kind of odd.
