Do these airstones make any difference?

I am trying to increase the aeration in my biocube 14. I have added 2 airstones to the back. 1 in chamber 1 and 1 in chamber 2. I was just wondering if the aristones in the back help with the aeration any or if it is just a waste of time. I am not really sure on how much circulation an airstone really provides. I also added a small powerhead in the tank to circulate more water around.

I think it is a bad idea all together. The amount of salt creep that will occur far offsets the benefits. One small powerhead, gently tilted towards the surface, is sufficient for your needs.

Okay then, I am going to remove my airstones. If they aren't doing much good then the humming from the pump and the future salt creep is not worth it I guess.
