I am way new to this and am wondering what amount of light per gallon will be required for my tank. I have a 75g tank that will be fish and LR @ first and I do eventually want to get corals so instead of buying lights twice i`d just like to go ahead with the corect lights due to there expense.
Thanks in advanece!
There are many choices to choose from. It depends on the corals you want to keep. I wrote and article on Coral light and Acclimation and you can get a good idea of what to get for different corals.
I read that thanks. I`m most likely going to go with HO t-5`s. with actinics and may have to purchase moonlight seperate depending on what model i go with. I have a 75g tank so I need 300W in order to eventually have corals/anenome
Depending on the corals you do decide to go with you may want to get more then 300wats. I have a 55g and i have 350watts and need just a little more for actenics. You may want to get a set of lights with 6-8bulbs. i've purchased from www.reefgeek.com for lights and loved the service they provided.
