I was in Walmart a while ago, looking for a big fish bowl (2 + Gallon) for my soon to be bettas, and they have this 1/2 gallon little tank thing. Its actually 2 tanks with a blue divider between, so you can raise the blue and watch them flare, but still have a clear divider in...
that gives each fish only a quart of water to live in! not even taking in account of plants and rocks and hiding places!
and now there is this "zen tank" that is really common. It is 1/2 gallon and has this little square in the bottom to put in gravel, and no room for anything else! just a box with a tiny bit of gravel, all for looks! >-|
I've seen some of those "zen" things. They might look cool but aren't suitable betta homes.
i agree with the cool looks, but NO! bad!
I keep 3 of mine in gallon containers and people call gallon containers death traps. One of mine is going in a 4 gallon heated and the other is in a gallon and a half. I WILL try to upgrade as I go along.:)
