How many Convicts can I have in a 75 gallon tank?

Maybe around 15?
See what others have to say, too! :-D

They're really aggressive and will either end up fighting or having babies....

I ran into someone giving away Convicts, I said I'd take a couple, he gave me 10 (incase some died) and everyone of them lived, it has been a few months and now they need a bigger tank. I want to buy a 125 Gallon for my two Oscars so I will have an empty 75 Gallon. Will 10 Convicts be fine in a 75 for the rest of their life?
Were it me, (and it ain't) I would make as many hiding areas out of rocks and slate, upturned flower pots etc.as I could. As has been already mentioned they will scrap with one another and in the event that a pair decides to have young the others will need lots of places to get out of the way of the breeding pair.Once the babies arrive unless you have all males or females (doubtful) they will not tolerate interlopers.;-)

Convicts are like the guppies of cichlids
