I heard that mollies like harder water. My water is 0 for hardness its super soft. Will my mollies die b/c of my water being so soft? Also is there any thing you can do to make you water harder?
The easiest way to make water harder and also add the pH for a molly is to put some crushed coral or crushed shells into a water flow path like your filter and let it gradually dissolve and harden the water over time. Crushed coral is the basic ingredient in the sand sold as a salt water tank substrate. You could make the change very quickly with things like baking soda, but that is a harsh approach that may harm the fish by how fast things will change.
