My new yoyo loach!
Picked up a new yoyo loach at the fish store today. It was the only yoyo in the tank. I did not even know for sure that it was a yoyo, because it was a lot bigger than any of mine. They did not have a price on the tank, so I went to ask someone how much it cost. It was a yoyo. Someone had it for years, but asked them to take it because it was to large for her tank. Anyways, I paid seven dollars for it. Not only is it huge, it is also blind. Both eyes are missing, looks like a very old injury. Its in my qt tank right now. I have noticed it does a lot of backwards sliding around the tank, trying to feel its way around. Hoping it will do ok with my other yoyos.
Not many people would want a fish missing its eyes. I wonder how he lost them? Nice of you for "rescuing" him. How large is he? Got any pics? Yoyos are one of my favorite fish!
The yoyo is a good 6 inches. It body is a lot thicker than my yoyos. I have had mine for about a year and a half, so I am guessing the new one is pretty old. One of his eyes is just gone, the other side, it looks like he has an eye but skin grew over top of it. Yea, I felt sorry for it, wanted to try and give it a nice place to live. The fish store was a couple hours from home, so they boxed it up with a heat pack for me for free.(they were probable glad to get rid of it) So far it seems quit healthy. I will see if I can get any pictures to turn out.
