Tips on Breeding Danios...
Hi I have purchased 4 zebra danios and I new 10 gallon tank to go with them. From there I really don'[t know where to go. What is the best way to go about breeding these fish or any other egg scatters? I have experience breeding all types of livebearers...

Egg scatterers are a little harder to bread than livebearers, I've had my danios for a couple years and have only noticed eggs a couple times (in all cases my mollies ate them before they had a chance).

Do you have any other fish in the 10 gal?

Danios IMO/E are one of the easiest egg scatter to spawn, the trick is keeping them from eating the eggs, you can use a false bottom, marbles, lot of java moss, spawning mop...anything that will keep them from the eggs, you can also lower the water level some so the eggs can get to the safe area before the breeders get to them and they are fast...
A 10g is perfect, make a water change and put 1 female to 2 male in the tank that night, turn off lights, first thing in the AM when lights go on they should spawn provided that they have been well conditioned with live foods for at least 1- 2 weeks before spawning, once spawning completed remove breeders and you should have wigglers within a day or two depending on water temp and pH...feed live foods like infusoria, daphania, seed shrimp, BBS once egg sac absorbed
