Oscar laying on the bottom

One of my oscars has been laying on the bottom for the past two days. i thought he/she was dead but it swims around and then returns to the bottom. Is it dying?

Help.............

If you could give us a little more information on your tank we maybe able to help.
Have you tested your water? If so please post the results.
Does your oscar show any signs of illness besides the obvious of lying on the bottom. Is he eating?
Any sores or spots of fungus on him?
Any of this information would help us better to determine your problem and a course of action on treatment.

Water Testing

I have not had the water tested. The fish looks fine and acts fine at times. He does eat. The water temp is 78, the tank is a 200 gal with a large air stone. I have four oscars and two mollys. I put the mollys in about two months ago to test water.

Its normal oscar actions. Most oscars will do this if they get moved to a new tank, and some will do it often through there lives. If its the only fish doing it i wouldnt worry.

Normal oscar action? I have two O's and have had them about a year and have never seen them laying at the bottom of the tank. They do rest at night hovering at the bottom but have never layed there as if dead. How long have they been in the tank?

Oscar Sick or not

He lays on the bottom and chases other fish when they get close.

Whats the temp at? nitrates? nitrites? ammonia?

I have not tested the water, but the other fish are fine. The water temp is 80.

Maybe he's trying to bait the other fish and then gobble 'em up!
