Pregnant Serpae Tetra? PICTURES!!!
Hey everyone I was looking in my aquarium and over time my serpae tetra has gotten fatter and now shes HUGE! is she pregnant? and if so I need some tips on how to care for her.
anyone? please help!
why doesn't anyone know? I thought you guys would have. well where else can i post this question?
IDK, it look like it's very bloated to me rather than full of eggs. Does it look like any of the scales are sticking out (called "pineconing")? Is she swimming and eating ok? It could be constipated or it could be Dropsy. Also, what are your water parameters?
is pinecoaning a disease that needs meds? and i dont know my tanks perimeters
Pineconing means that she could have dropsy.
does that need meds? can it spread? can it kill? Answer all these please!!!
Is your fish pineconing? If not, then she probably doesn't have dropsy. The disease is internal and can be difficult to treat Epsom salts can be helpful though. The bacteria that causes dropsy is contagious.Yes, dropsy can kill.
