tetra, plant ?
I had read, when doing a tetra tank it should be a planted tank, does that mean a lot of plants, i did'nt say live or plastic, i'm thinking they should be live plants, am i wrong or is it up to the person doing the tank.....seeking advice, cause i'm thinking about putting a 20g tank togther, any advice on what kind of tetras and how many ? and any other kind i could add. your help would be appreciated.
It's entirely up to you i personally like live plants especially plants from the region the tetras co me from the amazon. Plants help out with the water chemesty too. But generally speaking any plants plastic silk or real will provide security and make the fish feel more comfortable in the tank and lower agression.
It doesnt matter its up to you. Live plants are best IMO because they recycle nutrients in the water and take in CO2 to produce more oxygen for the fish. Plus they look great so what have you got to lose?!
Heres my planted 14 gallon...plants have changed a little since this pic but you get the idea...
Nice tank, Kamazza. I agree with everything everyone has said above. Live plants are the best :-)
In a 20gl I'd think you could put quite a large school of neons or cardinals. Lemon tetras, rummy nose tetras...all very nice tetras that I think would work well in your tank. What type of tetras are YOU interested in?? :-)
