Hello from NYC! Hello there, I was trying to ID my strange looking betta and I came across this forum and it seems pretty cool :)! I've been into fish since I was 7 when I started with tetras and guppies.. then guppy babies that went down the toilet. I've pretty much always had a tank but until I finish college I had to downsize to a 4 gallon biorb (worst fish tank ever) and two betta tanks. I keep gouramis back home though in a 65 gallon tank :) |
Hello and welcome to FishForum. |

Urm.. I was 7 years old. I didn't flush them, my mother did while I was at school. |
it wasnt a personal attack, it was just so your informed as well as anyone following along reading this thread so they dont think flushing animals is acceptable. didnt NYC have problems with gators in sewers? |
No lol. That's just a rumor that can't seem to die. If one did manage to wriggle itself into the sewer system it wouldn't survive long anyways due to the cooler temperatures. Would be pretty nifty though if that was real. |
Hi There! Your mom sounds like my mom...and they wonder why we didn't want to go to school! |
right ive heard it being a rumor but also being true due to the fact people having baby gators as pets and flushing them, dont see why they cant survive off rats but your right the temps would eventually kill them. |
Rumor?! Hah! I had to wrestle my foot away from a gator's mouth at the 53rd and Lex subway stop this very morning. Just kidding, of course. Welcome! :-) |
Flushing sounds like something MY Mother would do, too.lol |
