percula clown fish
I just got a new tank it came with a mating pair of clown fish percula I think. I have a percula clown fish in my other tank and i was wondering if I was to put the single percula clown with the mating pair if I would have any problems.

I think the larger of the two is the female and the other one the male is much smaller. The single is about the same size as the larger one of the mating pair. So I think that it would have 2 females and 1 small male.

What do you think would I have a problems.

Thanks Roger

Yes you can. For sexing the clowns the biggest is a female and the smallest would be male. here is the tricky part usaully when there is a group of three are more there. (might not be with yours though) When the female dies the male will turn into a female, and the third one which isnt niether sex will turn into the male. Yes they can turn sex's. I say it might not be with yours becasue the one that is by itself may all ready be a male or female.

They can only switch to female, they can't switch back. I think if I remember right that females will fight it out. Percs are the more peaceful of the clowns. I wouldn't recommend trying it with maroons. I'd think the main part would be to have enough cover for them.
