Aqua C vs Coralife?

Getting ready to purchase my first skimmer.....:-)

Which would you recommend and why?

ive never used a hang on the tank skimmer but ive heard decent things about the remora. try searching online reviews because some skimmers are gold and others garbage.

when you do get a skimmer dont think it falls into the garbage catagory right away, keep in mind it takes a week or two for the slime to build inside it for it to properly skim.

AquaC hands down. The CoralLife is not very efficient and everyone that gets one will defend it because they don't really know any better. Then, later down the line they will eventaully see that the skimmer isn't doing as well as it's suppose to do. The more experienced will tell you to get an AquaC. If you want to save a bit longer then you could get ann Euro reef, they clean themselves. I can't really recall the name of the smaller skimmer, sorry. If not then an AquaC is quite effecient and silent.

+1 to kellsindell. I've heard mixed reviews about the Coralife, but more negative than not. I never used a Coralife, but I'm still pretty positive that there are much better ones out there.

On the other hand, I;m pretty sure the Aqua-C skimmers are awesome. As a matter of fact, my next purchase for my saltwater tank is going to be an Aqua-C EV-180. I currently use an Octopus NW-150, and while it has served its purpose over the past year, it has still left me wanting more. Plus, I have to periodically clean out the air intake tube of saltcreep to keep a good flow of air going. The Octopus is a venturi system of drawing in air with a needle wheel to chop it up into fine bubbles, which I believe is the same as the Coralife. The Aqua-C uses a completely different method of air injection and bubble creation.

If you're wondering which to get between the Coralife and the Aqua-C, then go for the Aqua-C!

The Aqua C has a great reputation. I concur.
