Keeping one male blue ram?
Would it be ok to just have one male blue ram. I dont want breeding so no females. I have a 56 gallon basic community fish.

Rams aren't schooling fish and as long as he has places to hide i can't see a problem. Also you can have multiple male rams as long as they have enough space and hiding places... about 10 gallons per ram.
Should be fine with peaceful community fish, and if you don't have too many fish that stay near the bottom.

IME blue rams are happier with a partner, in fact my lfs only sells them in pairs for that reason. With a community tank, along with blue rams notoriously bad parenting habits my guess is the eggs or fry will be eaten before they get very far....
