Unidentifiable Algae/Fungus!

1.I don't know, but when I got a driftwood, there a transparent growth of something on it and now, some of it attached to the roots of my plants, but is it alright or no?

2.There is a spherial object that has white extensions coming from the center, but what is it? It look like a small ball, but look like a living organism!

Sounds like fungus to me. They just clear right away with time. What driftwood do you have?

i agree with lupin, i always get that translucent white fungus witha ny driftwood i add to my tank. It eventually goes away and soem fish will nip and eat it.
