my beta is driving me crazy!!
 

i bought a male beta some months back and ive kept him in a 1.5 gallon tank in my office. having him here has definitely helped the pass the time and my clients love him. recently tho hes been weary,he hasnt been eating like he used to and ill catch him leaning sideways ALOT and in panic i tap on the glass to make sure hes not going to die on me!also when i change his water hes been freaking out more than usual. he gets all wound up and dives down or smacks himself on the glass....i always make sure his water is clean every 1.5 weeks and the temp is always between 70 -75 degrees..

Optimum temp for a betta is 78 to 80 degrees. The water temp could account for his lethargy. I don't know about heaters for a 1.5gl but I know someone here does...I'll go check prior posts to see if I can find the info...

could you post a picture?

He needs more frequent watr changes than once every 1.5 weeks. If he's floating on his side it cold be swimbladder disorder.

how do you change the water, what do you feed, how often do you feed, do you ever fast him, what kind of substrate?

tapping on the glass only stresses a fish more.

i completely change his water i havent really tried partial water changes, i try to make sure the water is the same temp as what he was just in. i also make sure to clean his tank out along with fake plants and the gravel. i used to feed him quite often 3-5 times a day because he had a crazy appetite. now he hasnt touched his freeze dried blood worms in the last 3 days( i take them out once they get soggy because hes picky..) and oh yeah he hasnt made any more bubble nests before when i used to change his water id come in the morning and it would practically cover the entire surface now i couldnt pay him to shoot me a bubble....

It sounds like he has been overfed. I would reccommend feeding your betta twice a day, 2-3 pellets each time. They can eat like little pigs and will eat the whole container of pellets if you let them. lol He may be constipated. Frozen daphnia, which you can get at a petstore, is good for constipation. Fasting for a couple of days helps, too.
