plco growth?

hey what is the typical growth rate of a pleco because ive had mine for at least 6 months now and hes not much more than 4 inches.

theres a second pleco in the tank they get along well without fighting but one jacks all the food and is about half an inch longer than his buddy. they were bought at the same time and size. should I be worried?

they are in a 20 gallon tank but I have a 30 on reserve.

what kind of pleco?

doraslilhitman 01-12-2009 12:23 AM

standard common plecos, the smaller one has the spot pattern and sail fin of P. Multiradiatus but the larger one is has a mottled brown and black coloration with few distinct spots and brown Vs on his back so I think theyre different species.

common plecos reach 1.5' +

yea i know but in how long xD how fast do they grow usually

common grow pretty fast with enough food, so does BN, if one jacks all the food, just feed twice once the bigger guy is full the little guy can eat, also if you look at them all the time you wont notice the growth haha
