Question about fluorescent bulbs
I have a Blue planet 50L tank. Today the 11Watt energy saving fluorescent lamp died, and I'm looking for a replacement. The official Blue Planet replacement is $40.00 on the net, and the instructions tell me to only use official bulbs, except I haven't been able to locate any in my LFS's. Are these bulbs special, or can I purchase a standard Philips 11W energy saving fluorescent bulb (which are $8 for a pack of 2 and look exactly the same)?
Thanks for any help,

I do not know anything about the type of light--one of our other Australian members will likely know of it--so I can't offer much on that. If the fixture is a basic screw-in bulb socket, I would be tempted to try a CFL bulb.
Thanks for your reply Byron. Yep, the bulb is a standard screw-in CFL.
