"Tanked" and cycling...
So I enjoy the show "Tanked" on Animal Planet. There are some things I don't agree with on the show, but for the most part it's fun to watch and their tank designs are amazing. :shock:
Anywho, I have a question... how do they get away without cycling the tanks they build? From what I've seen, it looks like they fill the tanks with tap water from a hose on site. Then right after that they put the fish in. Is it a "hope for the best" kind of situation...is there something I'm missing?
I'm curious if there is a process the show uses that we don't see. I wonder if anyone here even knows. :P Just thought it was interesting and I've been wondering every time I see the show.
So I had searched on the forum for these questions and didn't find anything... And of course, after I post I find a link off my thread that asks the same question. Sorry! X3;;
They use bacteria in a bottle that's suppose to instantly cycle a tank. They actually have their own line of products of this that you can buy. Petco now carries this line if I am not mistaken.
