When to move female to seclusion?
My gf would like to know how she knows when her female guppy is ready to be put in its breeding box. she doesnt want to do it too early or it may miscarriage. when is a good time from the time she notices its stomach getting bigger?
Breeding Boxes are probably the worst way to go. Stuck in a little plastic box that just floats around? It is more of a stress box than anything.
If I was to try and save them, I would get a breeding net. Much safer and stress-free for the fish.
I always just let them have the babies, and let the strong survive. This will not be the only time you will have babies, trust me. :-)
But as to when to add the female, I am not sure on that. Good luck.
Timing is easy. When the female viewed from above is noticeably wider at the abdomen and when viewed from the side she has a squarish shape to her abdomen, she is within a few days.
I meant a breeding net. Sorry. Ok, maybe this'll help. She's in a tank with 3 male guppies, a male molly, and a Male Betta. It'd be kinda hard for them top survive under those conditions. I appreciate the advice on the letting them survive as they can but I kinda wanna try and take care of them. I dk. Any ideas anyone on how to know?
Ghreed, thank you. That helped a lot. Thanks.
But she should be fine in the net for a while. I would probably add some sort of floating plant just to aid in survival rate.
