Hey guys i just woke up this morning and i haven't seen my pleco in like a day so i finally lifted up my cave and he wasn't there!! :( I checked the filted a few times yesterday but no luck. Today when i lifted out the filter carterage he was stuck underneath trying to get out. A few days ago i noticed him trying to get in the filter so i tried to block it off but i geuss nothing worked...
Sorry to hear about the fish.
Most fish like current or like to swim "upstream". The output from the filter simulated the current upstream and I'm sure it was trying to swim upstream. My clown loaches do the same with my powerheads and they try to swim into the output jets of the powerhead. Luckily, the clown loaches are 4 times the size of the hole.
Ya well luckely he couldn't get into the fan part. Since my carterage got pretty dirty it started overflowing into the aquarium so he went up the other side. :(
 Was it a common Pleco?
Naw it was actually a rubber pleco.
And those guys love fast moving water. They need a lot of oxygen and fast moving water carries a lot.
Sorry to hear about your loss.
