My tank needs fish!
Okay, so I have an empty 45 gallon Hex in my closet and I really wanna set it up.
I know Hexs arent the greatest and dont allow you to be picky on what type of fish you want, but its all I have right now.
Only thing is I DO NOT want a tank full of Platties or Mollies etc.
I had a 10g setup and it was just Platties and other small fish and ugh.
I like them and all but I had SOO many cuz they bred and bred and bred some more!
However, if I get Angel fish I would put in some platties because they are pretty and all.
Also! I kinda want to do it in Sections. Top, Middle, Bottom Dwellers.
Ive been thinking of Angels(top), platties/mollies/swordtails/something I need suggestions, and I want a couple cories for the bottom. I Love cory Cats.
Any Ideas on what to stock it with?
Sounds like you've already got a plan! Angels, a group of platies or swordtails (the angels will take care of the fry), a school of 8 or 10 cories for the bottom and maybe a bristlenose pleco would look great. Just get some tall plants and some driftwood and you'd be set. Tall tanks like that are great for tall fish like angels. You could also try festivums instead of angels - they have similar behavior but the festivums look better, in my opinion, and are just something different from angels.
Could I mix Angels and festivums?
or is that not a good idea.
(ive never had festivums and know nothing about them.)
I love this site - American Cichlid: Central and South American Cichlids and New World Species - but i cant find anything about festivums :( anybody have any info on them? breeding, tank requirements, etc.
