baby kribs my kribs just recently became parents for the second time around. http://www.fishforum.com/members/633...s-42/a-213.jpg http://www.fishforum.com/members/633...s-42/a-211.jpg http://www.fishforum.com/members/633...s-42/a-212.jpg Parents are talking turns guarding fry from the other fish and rounding up the strays. some times they return with 4 or 5 fry in their mouths to spit back into the group. They seem less agressive toward the other fish this time around unless one of them gets too close to the babies. Last time they would patrol the tank looking for a fight. all seems well in my little water world. |
How Cool!!! Good luck! How much fun that would be to watch! |
If I wanted to breed kribs, would a flower pot in a position like you put it in be sufficient? |
Congrats! That's so awesome.... :-) What other tankmates are in there with the kribs?? |
Congrats! Kind of makes me want to let my pair get back together and go for another spawn, but it was a real pain getting rid of all of those little baby kribs so it will probably be a while before I give it another go. |
yes, it is super fun to watch the fry. yes, an over turned flower pot broken in half works well, although they hatched their eggs in a large sea shell not in the pot and the pots are sometimes difficult to break where you want. they are living with some neon/glolite tetras, otos, 2 male guppies (guppies are not a great idea to house with breeding kribs but these two know the boundry) they do breed quite frequently and in large numbers. thanks everyone for the congrats and well wishes! |
Congrats from one figh parent to another |
do you think a firemouth would be a good tank mate for kribs? |
Hey I should get some, that sounds awesome! Do they need lots of hiding places, and would they do well in a 55 community tank? |
