live sand turning gray

umm okay the live sand is turning gray in my crabitarium. :/ its a semi salt water tank
with a place for the fiddlers to get out and its been turning gray i swish the sand around like every five days :/ and yeah its still gray :/ i just did alot of a water change in the tank :/ and hopefully itll turn back to yellow :/ you could say its a deep sand bed because it has a slope out of the water :/

Get some Malaysian trumpet snails and stir it every 2 days. Your sand must be so fine to become compact quickly.

well its just live sand i bought from petco it was in a packet and it had saltwater in the packet too :/ it said it comes with some stuff and those snails? they cant survive brackishwater sand. thats why. and i stir it every three days ><
and also i wanted to find a way so i dont have to stir it too much every week because...it might stress them out. causing them to die quicker :/ i want them to reproduce so that i can have more crabbies ^^ i love crabs ::3 their amusing ^^ <3

With MTS, they can survive low end brackish water.:wink2: Stirring the substrate is better than not doing it at all. Which do you want? Dead crabs from hydrogen sulfide or live ones while their environment is kept healthy?
