I'm looking to add some Cories? Question.

I have a 29 Galloon tank already populated with 6 cherry barbs and 7 harlequins and a pleco. I will be adding some gouramies too. either 2 or 4? what specy of Cories is best to add. I was told about the pygmys? but I haven't found those anywhere. anyone have any suggestions?

I don"t think you can go wrong with any cories you chose. All cories are nice peacefull fish, that stay small. Just try to get 3 or more. They like hanging out together. Mine like some cave, so they can nap out of the light.

I have 6 sterba corydora's and they are really beautiful... I guess lots of people think they are beautiful... Type it into google under images and take a look...
They are a schooling fish so get at least 4 (even though I personally thing you should start out with no less than 6)

Goooooood Luck!!

I have a few false julii's cories in with my cherry barbs and I really like the combination of colors... But that might just be me. Good luck!

As for the gouramis, I suggest honey gouramis as they're more peaceful than many of the others.

Any sort of cory should work, and groups of at least six are best. What kind of substrate do you have? Cories need either a very smooth gravel or sand substrate in order so their barbels don't get damaged.

when i go to the pet store. I see the cories, and they are just lying on the floor. Are they supposed to be doing that?

Are they lying on their sides or sitting upright on the bottom? Cories are bottom dwellers and will sit on the bottom when they're not swimming or rooting around. If they are lying on their sides, their dorsal fins are clamped or they just look sick I would not buy them.

pygmys are great corys if you can find them I current only have one because i cant find anymore. Pygmy are tiny, their max size is under an inch. However, is very active and when there was 6 of em, it was a lot of fun watching them swim together.
