What would be the silky, stringy, looking strands
What would be the silky, stringy, looking strands comming from my toadstool leather (sarcophyton sp.) be?...I noticed some of these silky strands caought up in my bubble tip anemone..is it a poison?..can it harm the tank mates and inverts?..any help please..thx
The strands most likely are part of a protective mucous layer that the toadstool sloughs off every once in a while. Mine does the same thing... especially when I have my hands in there moving anything around. This is normal and not poisonous from what I understand. Good luck!
thx for your help
