Tunze Turbelle Stream 6080
Yes, i'm not sure if this one is calibrateable, so you can lower the flow output, but i'm sure you can. how many gph is it? and how big, gallon wise, is your tank?
the tank is 110G and the powerhead does 2200G/hr. do i need more than one powerhead or will this one suffice for the whole tank?
you want random flow in the tank not a stream going one way. what'll happen is your corals will grow leaning to the side. If you have random flow your coral will grow upward and better because it'll cause the food to be more available and it'll him more zones in your tank, and cause less dead zones. You want as few dead zones as possible.
so id be up for a least 2 powerheads, one in each corner facing the opposite corner and aimed at the front glass.
i suggest hydor K power heads.
in my opionion they are cheap and reliable, and you can put one on either side so you have minimal dead spots.
alittle surface aggitation is good too, as this prevents build up of nasties and allows better gas exchange.
i was looking into those aswell, along the lines of 2x Hydor Koralia K2 - one in each corner
that could work, id prob go more with the 3s possibly even 4s
i have 2 K2s in my 46 gal. + mag 9.5 pump as my return from the sump
what kind of corals do you plan on keeping?
how about lights?
was thinking of a Octopus Horizon 4000 with 2x white and 2x actinic T5HO lamps.
as far as corals go, some mushrooms, ricordea, xenia, zoanthids, any of the easier ones.
