Dealing with fungus and other disease
In my 20gal aquarium I have two platies, a dwarf gourami, a sailfin molly, 5 assorted cory cats, a clown pleco, and 5 black neons. I'm having issues because the platys mouth is disfigured and Its getting fin rot, I'm concerned because I'm doing a 30% water change once a week with gravel siphoning and small wihte growths are starting to develop on the mollys side and the corys barbels. any help is appreciated.
What sort of substrate do you have in the tank? If you have rough gravel, the cories could be injuring their barbels on the gravel, leading to infection. If you do have rough gravel, I would switch to either a very smooth gravel or preferably sand as soon as possible. No sense in treating the infections if they're just going to get more of them.
Do you have any pictures of the infected fish? That would make diagnosis easier.
