Charles, did you use the media of your 10 gallons tank filter? If not, you're experiencing New Tank Syndrome. You may have mini cycles. Try checking your ammonia and nitrites regularly.

i plan to sell my mollies and buy 12 guppies and 2 loaches (the small kind) is that okay?

St6_Devgru 12-19-2006 12:41 AM

yeah its a 10-30 dynaflo filter

St6_Devgru 12-19-2006 12:42 AM

oh and my ph is very high ......i think it might be over 7.6 cuz that only reads that in my ph tester thing. its the more high that it can read.....so its alkaline water.

What loaches? This one?
Dwarf Loach (Yasuhikotakia sidthimunki)

If so, it's ok. 12 guppies should be fine.
Charles, you have to wait until next week comes and buy the fish in 3-4 in numbers as you are adding them too fast.

7.6 is IMO not too high. It's fine.

St6_Devgru 12-19-2006 12:48 AM

oh ok blue sorry for that.

Add them gradually. Buying in threes would be a good idea otherwise you are adding them too fast while the tank is establishing. Your tank may still be experiencing mini cycles.

P.S. Pls post only once each time.:wink2: Simply edit your post and add more infos to your post.:)

ummm about them loaches based on my picutres my future stock would be okay right? my future stok is
10 guppies,
4 neon tetras,
10 ghost shrimps,
2 bristlnose plecos,
4+ snails (dont know if there are more had one but found 3 more (came with my long plants)) and
2 loaches (these small 1 1/2 inchers at my lfs (petland)).
would that be overstocked? would it be crowded should i take out some plants or decor?

they are all in my tank except for the 10 guppies and 2 loaches. ill sell my mollies to make room for them. wat do you think? if other mods see this wat do you guys think? i find that your opinions are quite exquisite and have a flair of expertise :D
