Eheim pro 3e, small problem
I recently bought an eheim pro 3e and it has been amazing except for one problem. Every little bit it will collect a little air and cause a whining sound while in full power (if i turn it down a notch the whining stops). I know it's air causing it because I can press the primer a few times to force the air out and the whining stops after that, but it will eventually just happen again, even though the 3e is supposed to automatically eject air.
Does anyone else have a 3e and have this problem? This is the first canister filter I've ever had, is this normal to occur during a new set up and will eventually quit or is there something wrong?
My theory is that maybe there's some air pockets in the filter media that are constantly being let loose since I just set it all up a couple days ago. As I said this is my first canister filter so I don't know if that is true or not.
Update: I have discovered that it is not the filter itself, but the spraybar making the whining/whistling sound. Tomorrow I think I'm going to take it out and drill some extra holes into it and see if that fixes the problem.
