How to keep the guppy pop. down

I'm setting up a 10 gallon tropical tank. The type of fish I am going to put in it changes by the day, but here is what I have now:

4-6 panda cories
3-6 guppies

However, because I have a smaller tank, I need a fish that can keep the guppy pop down. I really like the dwarf gouramis, but I've heard that they will sometimes bother or eat adult guppies.

What do you think? I need something that will eat guppy fry before they grow up, but leave adult guppies alone. It's okay if a few fry live , because my biology teacher at schools has some chiclids who are always up for a snack of small fish. However, I don't want to be always taking tanks of fish to school. I want most of them to get eaten :-D

You could always get all male guppies, or all females.

A dwarf gourami will never eat an adult guppy, however they may bother them it really depends on the temperment of the fish. sometimes gouramis may bother other fish that they think look like them, my dwarf gourami and my black sailfin molly will scuffle sometimes so I can't say as to wether or not it will bother the adults though I doubt it.they are a good way to keep fry population down. Good luck!

I would be worried about aggression between the gourami and your male guppies, so I'm not sure that's a good idea.

Honestly, I can't say I know of a fish that will really go after your guppy fry that will fit in your tank, as it's already pretty well stocked. If you're willing to set up another tank, say a 5.5g tank, you could put a single golden wonder killifish in there. It doesn't even need a heater and would eat every single guppy (eventually even adults) that you put in there.
