My Dwarf Gourami spits water at me.....
I wish I could get a video of it because it's hilarious to see.
When I was grabbing some water to test he came up to the top and I assumed he was just going to beg for food because he's "always hungry" but he opened his mouth as big as he could and then closed it real fast and sit the water at me! He did it a few more times and then swam away but when I went to put back the water I didn't use he did it again.
I've never seen him do it before. Does anyone know why he's doing it?
Like many gourami, the Dwarf is a bubblenest builder, so it is well adapted for "spitting." It is likely they may also use this tactic to knock insects down to the water surface. I have seen various fish do this, when a fly lands on the aquarium glass cover.
Don't worry, I doubt it is because your fish doesn't like you.
