well after encroaching on kates charlie,i thought i should start
my own gecko thread.:oops: sorry kate.
habitat.juwel rekord 96 one of my old aquariums(aka tank of doom)
it has a heat bulb at the moment attached to a thermostate until the heat pad arrives.
and a night light.
i will in the future be changing to a proper vivarium as the access
is difficult with the aquarium lid,now the first picture is the tank
first set up,however that is not looking like that now,mainly for
the leopards ease in finding their food,"the crickets"
wax worms and mini mealworms are contained in a feeding bowl,
but unless i take the back legs of the crickets i don't have
much choice.so all they have in there now,is a hide with moss
at either end,the hot end where they sleep has some slate on top
to shut out the day light i have in there.

Fantastic pictures Lainey! I love the way you have the tank set up for them - lots of room and places to explore. Morph is very like Charlie when he was a nipper.

Is there much, if any interaction between the two? And is that sand you're using as substrate?

yes it is sand,i used it years ago,and seemed ok with it.
people are split 50/50 about it from what i read on the net,i guess the only thing is,
is that their aiming skills are a little pants,so i might take it out,
i don't want them to get compacted.
interaction.........well sometimes they sleep together,this morning they are seperate,Morph in in the cold end,and Echo up the warm end ???????
they are both eating,which was my first major concern as they were
new and still settleing in.i handel them seperatly,i seem to have a little bit more feeling for Echo for some reason,we seem
to have bonded more,could be that he's more content to sit in
my palm than Morph.Morph is more the intreped explorer,and will
take off,full speed up my jumper and climb up my head. lol

That's so sweet that they were sleeping together! Sounds like Echo is lovely.. Morph is more like Charlie and won't sit still for a minute. It's good that you're handling them from such an early age.. it took me a while to build up the confidence to take Charlie out. I'm really glad you got them and very much looking forward to seeing them grow :-D

So have you decided if you're going to buy a vivarium, or make one yourself? What size are you going to go for?

well i'd like to give building one a go,however goodness knows
what it would end up looking like,i'd rather go for conti board
than MDF.i know MDF is not good for us humans,so i wonder
what if any effect it would have on lizards ?
i'm quite possitive i can turn a cupbard into a viv,as most of them
are made from the same type of stuff after all. !
and to be honest probably cheeper.
size, i would like a 4ft however i don't have a unit to put it on,
so it would probably have to be the same size as the juwel tank,
as that had a unit with it.i don't know,i doubt it will be this side
of christmas but i will be getting something different,the lid of the juwel
tank is a pain right now,hopefully when the pad arrives it will
be a little easier.
