Sick Oscar needs diagnosis please.
This is my friends red, He is around 2-3 years old. about 7 inches long. I dont know the parameters of the water. he is in a 55 gal.
tankmate is a 5" Kenyi,9-10" pleco.
ok here is the picture. He said it looks like the oscar has laminate on its scales and looks like bubbles under laminate.
It's kind of hard to see from that picture because of the angle, but it looks like there are scales missing. Does the fish get in fights with the kenyi? Kenyi are mean fish so it wouldn't surprise me. The bubbles could be infection or swelling from the wounds.
I stayed over at his house a month ago. Every morning I noticed the Oscar up in the top corner, and the kenyi making dashes and charging him kinda half harted. I also herd that it might be slime coat loss due to ammonia burn! ?? Have ya ever seen or herd of it?
I will call him up and have him send me a full fish picture,Maybee that will help.
