Trying to find moss.....
Anyone know where I can find peacock, singapore, taiwan or other mosses?
I've already got java moss and am looking for other variations of moss.
I've seen some of these listed in the classifieds on other forums but they are looking for trades and I've nothing to trade for.
The standard sites I visit where you can just outright purchase do not carry these types, just the java. None of my LFS have any thing other than java. Anyone have any ideas for me???? Thanks- kym
Aquabid.com has a whole section on moss. They usually have a nice selection, it's also generally nice a cheap to ship. If you're looking for riccia we could also work out a trade.
Maeve- That's my problem! Nothing to trade :-( (at least not yet...) and riccia was a moss I was looking for.
I looked at Aquabid. They have everything I need and and more.
I was trying to avoid signing up for yet another account.
I'll have to join both aquabid and paypal. More passwords to have to remember and more money I'll be tempted (and will) spend!
hey, your BA kim, isnt it 4am in cali right now? lol..
anyways, cant help you on the moss issue sorry as i only have java myself.. but just wanted to give you the heads up on aquabid.com
not me personally but ive heard of people getting scammed... so if you do choose to go that route - be careful!!
Really onefish? Scammed how? As in they just never received the item they paid for or they did and it was a rip off?
i think it was for fish actually .. the person paid for the fish, and never recieved them or answered any emails.
ive scoped out the site in the past myself and it looks good but never purchased anything, i thought id just give a heads up on what ive heard, god knows if its true or not (as it was on another forum)
Ah, yes well I was rather shocked at hearing that. As I too have checked out the site and it seems that a lot of people rely on it and it looks like a decent site. Thanks for the heads up onefish, much appreciated. I will have to think twice before ever using aquabid now. Although it could have been a shipping mistake theres no excuse for the site not replying to the persons e-mails.
I'd haven't read anything negative about aquabid here on our forum but perhaps I didn't look hard enough. I really want these mosses so I think I'll use aquabid and take my chances. When I do my ebay purchases I rely on a seller's rating so I'll do the same on aquabid. I got screwed one time on ebay but that's only one out of about 100 purchases. Unfortunately the one time I did get screwed on ebay it was for 200 bucks :-(.
Thanks for the heads up and I'll let you know how it goes. Off to drag myself to work...
I've ordered a lot of things from Aquabid (I have an internet shopping addiction!!) and have always been pleasantly surprised with how great the transactions have been. It's pretty standard procedure to throw in free stuff :). However, there aren't the same protections in place that there are in some other online stores, it is based on trust and reputation. I always read comments beforehand and buy from well established vendors. I also always use my credit card via paypal, which means I have fraud protection if I pay for something that never arrives. Like I said, I've never had an issue, but it's always good to be extra cautious online.
One last note, I'm not a huge fan of aquatic magic (a big plant vendor there). They're based overseas and the plants take a looong time to get to you, and will be very tiny to save on shipping. I still got what I paid for, but it wasn't as awesome an experience as most of the other vendors.
Also, if you do make a transaction, it's always a great idea to record it in the service reviews section, so people on our site know how it went.
I have that same addiction! I didn't know you could use your credit card though paypal. That's dangerous information for someone like me.
I'll place my order today and post the results in the service reviews. I didn't even know about the services review section....
