Can anybody identify this please.
My friend bought this Eel. It was labeled as "Snowflake eel". I have researched snowflakes and it looks nothing like it.It was also sold as "Freshwater". I thought there wasn't freshwater eels. except electric eels. The pics came from my cell phone, so they aren't the greatest quality.
the eel is in its own freshwater tank since purchased 3 weeks ago.
i cannot identify the eel but as far as i know there are fresh, brackish and fully marine eels.
i can also agree that is not a snowflake ( which are full marine )
however i feel it is a shame something was purchased without at the very least minimal research.
what size tank is it currently in, what have you been feeding, what are the other tank buddies, what temp. do you keep it and all that good stuff?
it is a freshwater moray eel
but its not really fresh water its brackish...good luck with it get a brackish set up tho
How to keep your moray eel, Echidna rhodochilis, alive with pictures

my dad had one of these afew years ago and he had to give it back to the shop as it gt 2.5 ft and ended up clearing his marine tank. he ate a 4 inch lunar wrasse. so hope it is kept in with fish that are big
