api freshwater kit and brackish water

So... I'm setting up two brackish habitats - one for a f8 puffer and one for a dwarf mudskipper.

How do the API freshwater kits do with brackish water? Will I need to buy a saltwater kit as well??

I am not 100% sure about brackish conditions, but I think it would make more sense to purchase the API SW test kit (not reef) instead of the FW one. Oh, plus a Hydrometer.
