Discus Rests Facing Down
I have a mature discus which is about 6" in radius. I've had him for 7-8 years. Recently he has been facing straight down when "resting". As soon as he sees me, he rights himself and acts completely normal. Other than resting in this downward position, he acts normal, eats well, and seems to be happy.
Is this normal behavior? Why's he doing this?
Fish do develop some odd habits as they mature:lol: If there is no darkening on the fish, and it eats, and acts normally otherwise I would say there is no reason for alarm at this point. Is it hiding or being reclusive at all? Is it being bullied by any other fish. Have you checked your water parameters lately? Are the other fish acting normal? When was the last water change, and how much? Sorry to bombard you with questions, but the answers will help determine if there is a problem.!!
Yep, he seems fine otherwise. I'll just let him do his thing!
Very good. If you do notice anything different with your discus we will try to help you!!
