A question about new Sunset Honey Gouramis...
So I just got a new pair of young sunset honey gouramis , one of them has moved into my tank and is as happy as a clam, he even livened up my old bala sharks; but the other one spends all her time hiding in the back corner between the wall and the filter. I checked her for every disease I could think of, but she looks perfectly healthy; the worst I could find was a case of clamped gills.
Do you think she's just having a harder time adjusting, or could it be serious?
Could you post your water parameters (temp, pH, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate)? That would be the first thing I'd check if a fish was behaving abnormally. Also, did you notice any violence between the two gouramis? Usually honey gouramis are more mild-mannered than other gouramis, but there's still the possibility that the more active one beat the other one up and has him hiding in a corner.
Not to rain on your parade, but you're eventually going to need a much, much larger tank for those bala sharks, as they eventually get to 16" in length.
